Wow. I am glad someone tried to educate this child. The sad part is he was not even listening. Hopefully one of the other kids listened and this message sparks a change in their life.
I am deeply disturbed by the attitudes of the younger generations. I am not but a decade or so older than these students. However, I am befuddled by the blatant disrespect of the teacher. I took the long road to my education, I have made mistakes and been immature at times. But, I knew ultimately in the end that if I ever truly wanted success in life that I was going to have to get a college degree. These kids just don't realize the opportunity that they have to turn our nation around, to live up to the dreams of our past scholars and activists. My hopes were that having President Obama in the White House would shake some of our kids into reality and give them serious life goals. All kids want to do these days is become famous quick so they can burn out before 40 and end up back at the bottom again. I love reality TV as much as the next guy but obviously it has changed peoples ideas on success, fame and happiness. They believe that all they have to do is go on reality TV, act like an ass then they will be famous! I could go into my views on the music industry and it's effects on the youth but that would be a whole other paragraph. Hopefully someday these kids will see the light and become productive upstanding citizens.
