Does the U.S. Government Do Enough for Veterans?

HOMELESSNESS: As of March 2008, about one-third of the adult homeless population has served their country in the U.S. Armed Forces. An estimated 154,000 veterans are homeless on any given night and perhaps twice as many experience homelessness at some point during the course of a year. The majority of the homeless veterans are male.

PTSD: An alarming number of veterans suffer from symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Veterans experiencing the symptoms of PTSD have complained about the lack of assistance from the Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

Why hasn't the U.S. government (i.e., presidential proposals, bill introduction by congressional members, etc.) done more for veterans?

They haven't done enough because the individuals that have the power to do anything don't care. The government suck!
